Most of us move through life without ever truly noticing our breath. Yet in Tantra—and in many therapeutic practices such as somatic psychotherapy—breath is considered a powerful gateway to relaxation, emotional release, and heightened pleasure. The way we breathe directly influences our energy flow, nervous system regulation, and our ability to feel connected to our own body.
When you breathe slowly and deeply into the belly, more oxygen circulates through your bloodstream. This nourishes the body, calms the mind, and awakens subtle sensations that can expand into full-body pleasure. Breath becomes the bridge between the physical, sensual, and energetic realms.
A Simple Tantric Breathing Practice
To receive the full benefits of Tantric breathwork, avoid eating for at least 2 hours beforehand. Relax and bring awareness to your body without judgement
Close your mouth and inhale slowly through the nose.
Let the breath travel deep into your belly, feeling it rise softly. Your ribs and shoulders stay relaxed and still. This is a complete, conscious Tantric inhale.
Exhale gently through the mouth. If it feels natural, release a soft “hah…” sound to encourage emotional release, energetic flow and vagus nerve stimulation
Continue for as long as you can, letting each breath become fuller, more fluid, and more sensual.
Tantric breathwork can also be combined with eye-gazing meditation. The mix of shared breath, presence, and uninterrupted eye contact can create a profoundly intimate, heart-opening, and energetically charged experience.
Enhance Your Tantric Massage Experience
Try incorporating Tantric breathwork during your Tantric massage, Kundalini massage, or even during a gentle Cuddling therapy session. Focused breathing helps you drop deeper into your body, expand erotic energy, soothe inner tension, and escape—if only for a moment—from the hustle and bustle of London.
When breath, touch, and presence come together, Tantra becomes a unique pathway to your inner harmony and peace within.
